Dark Souls 3 - List of Hidden Mechanics by JetStrim

No Particular Order (just listing what pops up on my mind)

1) Weapon Arts - (Unless Edited) Press L2 to perform the main hand / off hand weapons Weapon Art.

2) Estus Chugging - Mash the Use Item button to continuously chug it.

3) Ladder Battle Mechanics - You can punch upward or kick downward to attack enemies while climbing ladders (Either R1 or R2 forgot what the kick and punch is). being hit with this drains stamina. drain their stamina and the will fall the ladder.

4) Ladder Estus Chugging - Well, you can chug that estus while climbing.

5) Summoning - Has 30 Seconds Cooldown per summon (I haven't tried it, anyone confirm?)

6) Phantom difficulty - The more friendly phantoms you have, the more the enemies HP adjusts

7) Password Summoning Scale Down - If the character being summoned is much much overpowered compared to the host, the phantom would be scaled down to close to the level of the Host.

8) Purple Summon Signs - summons Mad Spirit, It's on their own decision if he will help or kill the host. (common knowledge, but helpful for starters who doesn't know this as this covenant is kinda hidden)

9) Frost Status Effect - Increase damage and slows stamina regen if inflicted. When proced, will deal 10% HP damage, you can remove frost effect with any fire based damage.

10) Curse Status Effect - Insta kills you if the built up finished

11) Being Embered - it makes you open for Invasion that means PvP. (some are NPC but surely most of the time it's Players, sometimes, name hint's if it's a player)

12) Location Population - during location pick on bonfire, you will see an icon (don't know what that is) that means it has more population at that area in range of your SL and weapon upgrade. more icons = more people.

Edit 1 as added by itztaytay (also edited the others on top as he clarifies some of them):

1) 2 Handing Weapons - Performs stronger attack or more stability to shield while 2 handed, some weapons are special in which you will be equipping two types of weapons or shield instead. Press (unless edited) "Triangle" or "Y" button for main hand 2 hand and hold down the button for off hand 2 hand.
2) Torch - Removes leeches. certain enemies apply leeches to your character that builds bleed status on a long duration (about 2 or 3 bleed procs based on experience) equip a torch to remove them.
3) Dried Fingers - a special item for you to increase number of friendly summons by 1, but increase the chances of invaders and its maximum number by 1.
4) Quick Item / Magic Switch - Hold down the switch Item / switch Magic button to switch the selection to the first equiped item / magic
5) All statuses have Hp scaling (Frost, Bleed, Poison, Toxic, Curse) and is the ONLY way they scale. Increasing buildup will let you proc the effect faster but does not change the damage at all, only the enemy's max Hp does that. (also storyteller staff is way better than normal poison for some reason)

Edit 2 as added by Emad-520 (Some of his contributions are edited above, others are bellow):

1) Dying as an Invader - If you die during invasion, it drops your souls on the location of your death.
2) Being Blue Phantoms - Killing players with the covenant "Watchdogs of Farron" and "Aldrich Faithfuls" won't give you rewards.

Edit 3:

1) Poise - the ability to withstand an attack. only works on certain type of weapons during attack. (correct me here)
2) Hollowing Level - is increased everytime you die, the number of increase is based on the number of dark sigils on your inventory
3) Alluring skulls works on NPC invaders
4) Ladder Jump - tap the run button twice.

Guild Wars 2 - Level 80 & Beyond Guide │ What to Do & Goals to Have by GSmaniamsmart

If you do not like to read, then see the video linked below instead:
https://youtu.be/s0y2fIXHb5s

Recently I created a New Players Beginners’ Guide to Guild Wars 2 that was heavily supported and seemed to help a lot of people out. Many of you had stated that I should also make a level 80 and beyond guide, so here it is.

If you haven't seen my beginners' guide for Guild Wars 2, please check it out, because there is some content in there worth knowing about that I won't go as much in-depth in here, as I do there.

Understanding & Gathering the Essentials
Once you're level 80, the real fun begins. Most of the game's content is heavily revolved around level 80, hence why it's fairly easy to level up to max. However, with the many things to do in-game at max level, some players can find it hard to get started on anything. This is what causes a good number of players to even quit the game once they get to 80, missing out on all of the end game content Guild Wars 2 has to offer.

Just like when you first start the game, one of the first things I’d do when getting to max level is obtaining the essentials. This includes max level gathering tools that can be bought from any merchant (they will be blue colored), 20 slot inventory bags (which can be bought from the trading post, or crafted), and at least rare gear (they will be yellow, and can be bought from the trading post, crafted and gained from world bosses, story missions, and other parts of the game).

Essentially the main goal is to get your exotic gear, and if you have the gold for it, go ahead and buy it because you’ll have better stats and be more competent. If you don’t have enough gold, upgrade your weapons first, and then start upgrading your armor and trinkets. If you happen to be very poor, make sure you continue to salvage everything to earn more luck to increase your magic find and chances of getting exotics as drops. Otherwise farm for gold, which will be easy to accomplish with the many things you can do from here on with your yellow gear. As long as you know how to dodge and play your class, yellow gear should be fine for some of the end-game content, but get orange gear as soon as possible! Now would also be a good time to look at runes and sigils for your exotic gear, if you have it, which synergize well with your build. Note orange runes and sigils cannot be slotted to anything lower orange gear.

As much as earning gold, and gearing up to exotics is important, it’s also important to ensure that you have all your skills and specializations unlocked from your Hero panel. If you still are missing some skills and specializations, use your hero points or complete hero challenges throughout the maps to gain more points. Specializations make a difference in all of the end game content and this should be a priority. Upon unlocking all of these it’s best to fully understand your class now, understand how certain skills can work well together, and how certain traits in your specializations synergize with skills, weapons, and your choice of runes and sigils. If you’re completely stumped and don’t know where to begin you can always use an online resource such as MetaBattle to see current top builds.

PVE, Dungeons & Fractals
When it comes to completing content there are several routes you can take, and I’ll be going over them all in terms of difficulty, be aware these are opinionated and you may find some easier.

Now that you’re max level it’s important to have goals, as I mentioned in the previous guide, this game is heavily goal driven, and once you’ve completed your personal story (which should be done by now), the game doesn’t really push you in a direction anymore, you pick your own. Completing the world map is one option as you’ll get enough hero points to max out not only your specializations and skills, but also gain progress on your Elite specialization and Tyria masteries if you have Heart of Thorns.

Your Elite specialization gives you more skills and traits, and your mastery tracks give you special perks for PVE, such as auto-loot, more rewards from fractals, legendary crafting and more. These mastery tracks can be completed through gaining experience throughout Tyria, which pretty encompasses everything in this guide. To complete these tracks and unlock the perks you need mastery points, which again, can be earned from completing a variety of content in the game.

If you’re not feeling like going through each map however, I do recommend checking out all of the world bosses that you can now participate in, or some of the higher level map events in the Orr maps such as the Cursed Shore. Both of these options give you lots of loot, gold, experience and mastery points. There’s a ton of content in Tyria to explore, including mini-dungeons, jumping puzzles, and map meta-events that all give you experience and loot and should be very accessible now since you’re level 80. Feel free to explore and enjoy the game, there’s no rush.

If seeking for something more challenging and rewarding you can try out dungeons and fractals. You’ve probably already done a few dungeons prior to level 80, but now, you can try all of the dungeons and complete them a lot quicker. Each dungeon has several paths to clear aimed towards level 80 characters and gives lots of loot, a good amount of liquid gold (even more so if completing the Dungeon Frequenter achievement which requires 8 completed paths), and experience.

Fractals on the other hand have always been a bit more challenging for me as there are many more mechanics involved, some puzzle solving, and instabilities to overcome. If you get into fractals and complete most of the lower scales, these fractals become more difficult the higher you climb the fractal ladder. The higher you climb, the better rewards you’ll get as well. This is a great place to acquire ascended gear too which is even better than exotic gear, and will be explained more about a bit later. It’s also key to understand that the higher you go in the fractal ladder, the more agony resistance you will need too. Agony resistance is basically a stat of defense for higher level fractals, each higher level requiring more and more agony resistance, which is earned from completing fractals and can be slotted into ascended gear. Both fractals and dungeons give you the opportunity to earn skins too for your armor and weapons that are exclusive to those PVE modes (excluding PVP and WvW reward tracks).

PVP & WvW
For the most part, you’ll probably want to do dungeons first since you won’t need ascended gear as you do in higher tier fractals to benefit from the required agony resistance. Aside from these activities, WvW and PvP are still part of the game too. Now since you’re level 80 and understand your class a bit more, you may want to participate in a lot more PvP. Once confident enough you can participate in ranked PvP that allows you to climb through a series of ranks depending on how well you play, and how much you win. This is basically another reward track that rewards you with a badge next to your name, gold, and dyes. On top of this, you can still earn rewards from the normal reward tracks that are offered. Similarly, WvW may now be more suitable for you too. With your skills and specializations unlocked you can now be a bit more competent in WvW, whether you want to follow a commander or learn the maps and strategies to command one of your own squads. WvW has a lot to offer, for guilds and for personal rewards, not to mention you can make some new friends. Every server either has a TeamSpeak or a website where you can participate on to learn more about WvW, or simply just follow a tag on the map to be a part of the action in killing armies of players and capturing keeps and towers.

Living World & Story
If you’re ready to get back into the story, you can always begin the Living World season missions if you have them unlocked or start the Heart of Thorns content. Each living world episode gives you loot, some mastery points, and a great story that follows the original personal story. The Heart of Thorns story will take you through the new maps and allow you to experience yet a second personal story sort of. Each of these maps are a bit harder than regular maps you’re used to in Tyria, but there’s a lot to do. Whether you like mini-games and want to complete all the adventures, are an explorer and want to map complete, are an achiever and want to complete the large number of achievements to fully experience every map and boss, or just need some gold by participating in the map meta-events, there’s something for everyone. Since you’re in the Heart of Thorns maps now too, you’ll also be able to progress through your Heart of Thorns mastery tracks which offer perks such as gliding, bonus rewards, ways of traveling through the map faster, and gaining advantages to kill mobs in the area. Similarly you’ll need Heart of Thorns mastery points which can be earned from completing achievements and exploring the maps. These maps are also great for progressing through Elite specializations as hero challenges here give 10 points instead of 1.

Each of these maps also have skins for your armor and weapons, so if your into fashion you may want to consider looking at each of these games modes (dungeons, fractals, and Heart of Thons maps) to gather all the skins. Dry Top and Silverwastes also offer great ways to make gold quickly, gather mastery points and unlock even more skins too, so don’t forget about those either. These work very similarly to Heart of Thorns maps and are also a tad harder than the normal Tyria maps.

Raids, Legendary & Ascended Gear
If you’re still looking for even more of a challenge and want to really max your character out you may also want to look at raids and ascended gear. Ascended gear is heavily recommended for raids, and should be on your radar as soon as possible since it can take a very long time to craft these, if you aren’t sitting on top of mountains of gold in which you can then just buy your way into making them. Ascended gear is better than exotic gear, and just like exotic gear you should look at upgrading your weapons first. However, if you’ve been playing the game for quite some time now, you’ve probably earned enough tokens such as laurels, fractal relics, guild commendations and Badges of Honor to buy your ascended trinkets, so be sure to check those first. Once you have if not all, but some of your ascended gear at least you could try to participate in raids.

Raids are probably the hardest content to complete in the game and require lots of time, patience, skill, and cooperation with other players. These instances can be very rewarding and can also start you on your journey to obtaining legendary armor. You can look for a raid in the LFG system just as you can look for others to play dungeons, fractals, and Heart of Thorns maps with. All of the raids can be accessed from the Lion’s Arch Aerodrome just nearby where fractals can be accessed in the southern portion of Lion’s Arch.

And while on the topic of legendary armor, which requires raid completion, liquid gold, crafting materials, and collection completions, legendary weapons can be acquired too. It’s important to note that legendary stats do not exceed ascended stats. Hence, an ascended sword and chest piece is just as good as a legendary one. The difference is that stats can be swapped from legendary gear whenever you want, and they offer an awesome skin and look to them making them stand out from the other gear; it’s a way to show off your accomplishment in the game. Be aware that both legendary weapons and gear require a lot of time, effort and gold, but can be very fun to complete. With Heart of Thorns you can even go on a journey and set of missions to get the precursor for your legendary weapon which is the bulk of the hard work.

Extras & Closing Thoughts
Still with all of this content in the game, there’s still so much to do. As a level 80 and now able to acquire rare and valuable materials you can also contribute to your guild to help build your guild hall, and participate in all of the guild missions. There are also a ton of neat little achievements that range from very easy to difficult in completing collections to earn useful gizmos such as Princess to eat bloodstone dust and give back loot, home instance nodes that can be placed in your home instance and gathered by you and your friends every day, and even more rare skins and ascended gear such as unique back pieces that too have a whole set of missions and steps on their own. This still doesn’t include many of the live updates that ArenaNet patches every two weeks or so that include new current event content offering more achievements and a small advancement in the story, and the myriad of festivals that come at specific times throughout the year that offer tons of fun.

Whether you’re a hardcore gamer who’s looking for a challenge, a casual gamer looking for fun, or someone with a creative mind for décor or fashion, Guild Wars 2’s end-game has a ton to offer. And if all of this still seems overwhelming where you still feel lost and not sure where to begin, feel free to see any of the links below that go even more in-depth in explaining the processes of gaining ascended gear, completing Silverwastes, running dungeons, making gold, earning mastery points and your elite specialization, agony resistance in fractals and much more!

I hope this guide has helped you as well as the beginners’ guide, and if it’s anything that you should keep in mind from reading any of this, is that you should always have a goal and strive towards completing something. There’s a lot to complete in Guild Wars 2 (more than I can even cover), and with such a great community that is willing to help others, don’t ever be afraid to ask in map chat, or in the comments sections for help!

Thanks for reading, and happy gaming!

Destiny - How to easily obtain exotic shards by erock1283

So most people probably already know this trick, but I try to tell my friends about this any chance I get. One way to easily get a good supply of exotic shards is to buy the Year 2 version of any Machine gun or Rocket Launcher (for this example I use the Year 2 Thunderlord) from the exotic weapons blueprint kiosk and equip it. Then make sure to equip your class item (cloak, mark, or bond) that has the "Increase the upgrade rate of Machine Guns" (or Rocket Launcher if using a Rocket Launcher for this). Then use just 6 motes of light to completely upgrade your Thunderlord (you don't have to activate the nodes on the Thunderlord) and then dismantle it. In return, you will get 2 exotic shards, usually 3 motes of light back, 5 weapon parts, and some glimmer. All it costs is 1 exotic shard and 2500 glimmer. So you are essentially trading 1 exotic shard for 2. Something great to do if you are maxed out on your glimmer.

TL;DR: Purchase Y2 Thunderlord, equip it. Equip "upgrade machine rate" class item. Use 6 motes of light. Dismantle Thunderlord. Get 2 exotic shards.

Bonus SGA: Credit to aspergerac for posting the following in the comments below.
Also don't forget free exotics upgrades with the kiosks. If you have a 334 Exotic you want to infuse to 335 you will spend one exotic shard. If you break down that 334 instead you will get two exotic shards. Then you can use one shard to buy a new gun from the kiosk and the second shard to infuse it. This way you actually spend 0 shards instead of 1.

Dark Souls 3 - Extensive guide to Luck/Hollow build and why it is viable by Soul_Borne

Hey everyone, before I start this guide I just want to say that I have sunk 250+ hours in to my luck characters and I have been using hollow weapons since release. I have had success with them in both PvP and PvE, and have compared them extensively to other infusions on the same weapon.

I see a lot of people on here who are both misinformed on how to best utilize a luck build and misinforming others on the matter. This guide is aimed at new players who may have never heard of luck scaling, as well as veterans who dont feel like experimenting in untreaded waters. I plan to convince you by the end of this post that Luck builds are completely viable, and even better than non-luck builds with the same weapon in a lot of cases. Note that when I say "viable" I am referring to using a luck build for PvP at SL 120, as I believe that anything is viable for PvE. I will not be referencing Anri's Straight Sword, even though that sword scales with luck. This is because it is the most over-powered straight sword and no one should require a guide to use it. (heres the guide: hit r1 a lot) For the purpose of simplicity, I will assume that you are playing a deprived, but everything still applies to every starting class. If you already know how the hollow infusion works, you can skip the next section.

THE BASICS____________________________________________________________________________
Dark Souls 3 introduced a new upgrade path called Hollow. In order to infuse your weapon with Hollow, you need a Hollow Gem as well as the Profaned Coal. You can acquire a Hollow gem in Farron Keep and you can acquire the coal in Irithyll Dungeon. Another new mechanic introduced in DS3 is character hollowing. If you don't know how to make your charactar Hollow, look up Yuria/Yoels questline. It can be done very early in the game. I feel it is important to mention here that in order to maximize this builds effectiveness, you must be ok with your character looking like a weird zombie.

Infusing your weapon with Hollow does a few things. It reduces the base damage of your weapon slightly (almost always by a lesser amount than any other damage-reducing infusion), it DOES NOT change your weapons natural scaling, and it adds damage that scales with luck. As far as I can tell, the Luck scaling is almost always in the high B to low A range. This scaling is not represented by a letter in the Attribute Bonus area, but the extra damage is shown next to your weapons natural damage.

Another less obvious effect of the Hollow infusion is that it gives you extra points in your Luck stat, provided your charactar is sufficiently hollowed. I believe you need to be somewhere around 20 hollowing for it to take effect, and you are granted 1 extra point of luck for every 2 levels of weapon reinforcement. This means that a +10 Hollow infused weapon will give you 5 extra points in your luck, and having a Hollow weapon in each hand gives you 10 total points of luck. I cannot stress how beneficial this is to making luck viable. This gives you 10 free levels of weapon damage scaling, reducing the levels you must invest in order for the weapon to reach maximum effectiveness.

MORE ADVANCED STUFF___________________________________________________________________
I want to expand on some of the less obvious benefits of using a Hollow weapon. When you have a hollow equipment in both hands, you are essentially giving yourself 10 free Soul Levels. This is important, because it means you only have to put 20 points into your luck stat to hit the softcap (and yes, the softcap is the same) rather than the 30 levels required to invest hit the soft cap for dex and stregth. This makes Hollow not only a very good choice to add extra damage to an already well scaling weapon, but also makes hollow a good choice for a weapon that has naturally crap scaling. Assuming you want to go with a luck and str or a luck and dex build, you only need to invest 50 levels into your stats to maximize damage. This leaves you with another 70 levels that you can invest in Vit/Vig/End or whatever you want if you are trying to stay at SL120. If you want to go with a "pure" luck build, you only need to invest 20 Levels into your weapons damage, leaving a whopping 100 levels to invest in Vit/Vig/End and/or weapon level requirements. Infusing crap scaling weapons with Hollow not only makes them do significantly more damage, it also gives you WAY more levels in other stats that are useful for PvP, because you will not have to invest much in Str/Dex.

A common misconception is that in order to utilize a luck build efficiently, you should find a weapon that has natural bleed damage. This misconception stems from the fact that bleed damage is increased with a higher luck stat. This is true, but the increase is almost completely insignificant, and should not factor in to your weapon choice. I'm not saying that Luck/Bleed builds don't work, they certainly do. I'm simply saying that only using weapons that have natural bleed is significantly reducing your build options for a very small benefit that almost never make a difference in the end. I will talk more about Luck/Bleed later in the guide.
Now that the association between bleed and luck builds has been broken, you are open to an extremely wide range of options when it comes to Luck builds. But what weapon should you use?

WHAT WEAPONS WORK WITH LUCK AND WHY?________________________________________________
Short answer: A lot more than you would think.

Dex/Str weapons: Practically all weapons that have a natural C or better in Dex or Str scaling will benefit MORE from a hollow infusion than a Sharp or Heavy infusion. The drawback to the extra damage is that you have to invest 20 more levels into your scaling stats. I personally think that with a Sharp or Heavy build, you end up with more levels than you really need especially if you plan on being SL120, but this is up to you to decide. Hollow is generally more effective on a dex build, because there are not many weapons that naturally scale highly with strength. When directly comparing Sharp weapons to Hollow weapons, at 40dex/40luck you will do around 40-50 more damage per swing. When comparing Heavy weapons to Hollow weapons you will do around 30-40 more damage per swing. This is because in both cases, the Hollow infusion reduces the base damage by less and does not effect the scaling of the other stat.

Quality Builds: I generally would not recommend using a Hollow infusion on a naturally C/C scaling weapon. I have not tested the waters but I can only assume using a refined gem is more beneficial. This is because of the huge stat requirements. You will presumably do massive damage with a quality/luck build, but I do not think that 40 levels is enough to spread across your non-damage stats to realistically do well in PvP.

Pure Luck builds: Weapons that don't scale well naturally have potentially the most to gain from using a luck build. For example the Brigand Twindaggers are a weapon that almost everyone probably dismissed as soon as they realized it had D/D scaling at +10. However, if you infuse it with hollow and only invest in your luck stat for damage, you will be getting around 200 damage per hit with an investment of only 20 Soul Levels. this gives you 100 damn levels to invest in your other stats. If you have a bunch of Carthus Rouge, you can actually do viable damage with this weapon, stack bleed quickly, and use quickstep. Really a deadly combo. I am not sure about the actual numbers, but it seems that very low scaling weapons actually benefit MORE from being infused with hollow than other weapons. Any weapon with high base damage and low scaling is an extremely good candidate for Hollow infusion. It is a great way to bring trash-tier weapons into viability. You may not do as much damage, but you will have SO much more tankiness and endurance.

Bleed builds: Finding a very fast weapon and infusing it with Hollow is probably the most effective strategy for a bleed based build. Something like Painting Guardians Sword or Brigand Twindaggers will always do better with a a hollow infusion. Use Carthus Rogue to give bleed to non-bleed weapons and you can be a tanky, fast rolling, bleed monster that does more damage than anyone would expect.

Magic builds: The Man-Grub's staff is the only magic catalyst in the game that offers luck scaling. It is acquired from maximizing devotion to the Rosaria's fingers covenant. I have not personally used it, but from what I hear the luck scaling is better than the int scaling on every othr staff. Of course, you still need to meet int requirements for spells so this is probably not a great choice.

CONCLUSION____________________________________________________________________________
If you are using a Dex scaling weapon, a Str scaling weapon, or you want to make a crap scaling weapon viable, try investing 20 points into luck and infusing with Hollow. It almost always gives you a significant damage increase and I think it is always worth it. If you have any questions or critiques, mention them in the comments. And if I forgot about anything, or if I got anything wrong please tell me. I hope you guys found this guide helpful, as it took me a long time to write. I love the Luck stat and the Hollow infusion, and would hate to see it not included in future games. Cheers!

edit: the covenant that gets you Man-Grubs staff is Rosaria's fingers, not Mound-Makers. I have also been told that the requirement for hollow luck-boost to take effect is 15 hollowing.

The Division - Quick Tips for Beginners by J04DAN

Played the beta this morning with a couple of my friends who hadn't played yet and these were a couple tips they found useful so I thought I'd share for any other new players.

ALL PLATFORMS:
  1. There is an option to make going around cover a button press. This helps prevent accidentally moving into line of fire.
  2. There is an option to auto hide HUD. This makes your health and perk HUD go away unless in combat or you can make it show up by pressing X/Square/Some PC button I can't remember.
  3. Turn your brightness down. By default it's too high IMO. Turning it down removes some of the washed out look. You're prompted to do this at the start of the demo but if you missed it you should revisit.
  4. You can mark items in your inventory as junk. Doing this allows you to deconstruct or sell at a vendor multiple items at once and makes inventory management faster.
  5. You can fast travel to any member of your group by selecting them in the group menu and selecting Fast Travel. You can not fast travel while you or teammate is in combat. via /u/Thorskid
  6. There is a notice board you need to scan and a JTF Officer in Camp Hudson right as you land in Manhattan that provides encounters for you to do. These are unique to the encounters provided by the notice board in your base of operations. via /u/BiggPoppa
  7. Use your food for buffs by going into your ammo type sub menu. via /u/PM_for_help
  8. You can mark enemies for your group. Holding the mark button starts a timer countdown. Useful for non-verbal communication in DZ.
*This is done by pressing Up on the D-Pad
  1. Helping citizens in need will reward you with cosmetics, weapons and gear. via /u/biggpoppa
  2. You can matchmake a mission while roaming around. How to: https://youtu.be/bqkurQ4qE6c via /u/Hamishbode Twitter
  3. While aiming down sights you can switch your shoulder by clicking the left thumbstick down on console and _______(fill in PC keybind) via /u/Rayford CONSOLE SPECIFIC:

Heroes of the Storm - Greymane Guide: Gilnean Cocktail Build by Serendeth

Heroes of the Storm (Guide)

Today we are looking at Greymane's Gilnean Cocktail build or as I like to call it the Happy Hour Special. This build focuses on enhancing your Gilnean Cocktail or "Q" while in human form to punish the enemy and whittle them down before jumping in for the kill.

Remember, if you have any tips or tricks you would like to share post them for others in the comments below.

Also, if you would like to see a specific hero/build let me know and I will do my best to work it into the schedule.

[Blade and Soul] Guide: Terror Tanking (Summoners) by Hakurai

He might spin a bit more, ideally let ranged players just kite him, but the worst possible thing you can do is stationary tank. if you do it, I hate you, because my cat can't taunt off of your taunt. I hope you stand up to pee and trip over your computers power cord, pull it out and fry your hard drive while simultaneously releasing sparks that ignite your house on fire, and while falling you break your pinky toe.

Nvidia announces G-SYNC - Adaptive refresh rate Monitors - no more Lag, stutter or tearing

Via: http://blogs.nvidia.com

No More Tearing, No More Stutters

Hundreds of engineer-years later, we’ve developed the G-SYNC module. It’s built to fit inside a display and work with the hardware and software in most of our GeForce GTX GPUs.

With G-SYNC, the monitor begins a refresh cycle right after each frame is completely rendered on the GPU. Since the GPU renders with variable time, the refresh of the monitor now has no fixed rate.

This brings big benefits for gamers. First, since the GPU drives the timing of the refresh, the monitor is always in sync with the GPU. So, no more tearing. Second, the monitor update is in perfect harmony with the GPU at any FPS. So, no more stutters, because even as scene complexity is changing, the GPU and monitor remain in sync. Also, you get the same great response time that competitive gamers get by turning off V-SYNC.

Comprehensive Guide to Hearthstone (Everything you need to know)

Hello everyone and Welcome to my Guide to Hearthstone!

Within this post you'll find an overview of all Heroes and strategy guide as well as an Arena guide discussing things such as key cards to pick.

My name is Quickstero and I'm an avid MTG player and have lots of experience in games such as Yu-Gi-Oh and Cardfight Vanguard so I know a little bit about CCG games in general.

But anyways lets move onto the Hero Overviews:

Druid
Power: 2 Mana, 1 Atk Dmg, 1 Armor
The Druid is a spell heavy hero that focuses on gaining more mana in the begin in order to outpace their opponent. Druids use a combination of creatures and spells in order to overcome their opponent.
Key Cards: (cards to look for in Arena)
Hero Specific Cards:
  • Innervate
  • Wild Growth
  • Druid of the Claw
Neutral Cards:
  • General Standard Neutral Cards that are good in any deck
Hunter
Power: 2 Mana, 2 Dmg to opponent
The Hunter is a more minion focused deck that revolves around the Beast subclass. The goal of most Hunter decks is to rush down the opponent with low cost minions as well as remove opponent minions with spells. Secrets are also a main theme among Hunter decks.
Key Cards:
Hero Specific Cards:
  • Explosive Trap
  • Scavenging Hyena
  • Explosive Shot
  • Starving Buzzard
Neutral Cards:
  • Dire Wolf Alpha
  • Bloodfen Raptor
  • Any Neutral Beast minions
Mage
Power: 2 Mana, 1 Dmg to anything
The Mage is by far the most spell reliant hero among the entire group. Most Mages use spells to kill their opponent rather than using minions. Minions with Spell Damage are extremely powerful in Mage decks. There is also a mage deck that revolves more on the mechanic of Secrets. If anyone is interested, I can discuss this deck more in-depth in the future.
Key Cards:
Hero Specific Cards:
  • Fireball
  • Polymorph
  • Sorcerer's Apprentice
  • Flamestrike
Neutral Cards:
  • Ogre Magi
  • Kobold Geomancer
  • Dalaran Mage
Paladin
Power: 2 Mana, Summon a 1/1 minion
Paladin decks are a mainly minion focused deck that uses spells to buff up their minions. A main theme among Paladin decks is the skill Divine Shield. Paladins can also manipulate the opponent's minion's health or attack with their spells or minions. Paladins have a higher survivability rate compared to other heroes due to the use of theses spells/ minions.
Key Cards:
Hero Specific Cards:
  • Truesilver Champion (Weapon)
  • Hand of Protection
  • Consecration
  • Argent Protector
  • Aldor Peacekeeper
Neutral Cards:
  • Sunwalker
  • Argent Commander
Priest
Power: 2 Mana, Heal 2 Dmg on Hero or Minion
Priest rely on their power to heal in order to survive longer than their opponent. They also have spells to spot remove minions from the board. The priest also have the ability to change their healing capabilities into the ability of damaging the opponent's minion and hero.
Key Cards:
Hero Specific Cards:
  • Lightwell
  • Auchenai Soulpriest
  • Lightspawn
  • Northshire Cleric
  • Shadow Word: Pain
Neutral Cards:
  • Lightwarden
  • Eathen Ring Farseer
Rogue
Power: 2 Mana, Give hero a 1/2 weapon
Rogues are another spell heavy deck that are used to take out the opponent's minions. Rogues also focus on theStealth mechanic when involving their creatures. Rogues usually wait for their opponent to make a move before they decide what strategy they should use. They also have a hero specific skilled called, Combo which requires a card to be played beforehand in order to gain the affect of the Combo.
Key Cards:
Hero Specific Cards:
  • Defias Ringleader
  • Backstab
  • Assassinate
Neutral Cards:
  • Jungle Panther
  • Stranglethorn Tiger
  • Ravenholdt Assassin
Shaman
Power: 2 Mana, Summon a random Totem
Shaman decks uses a combo of spells and minions to overpower their opponent. Although the power of these spells and minions are very strong they have the negative ability of Overload. Shamans also specialize in the ability ofWindfury.
Key Cards:
Hero Specific Cards:
  • Forked Lightning
  • Stormforged Axe
  • Lightning Storm
  • Unbounded Elemental
  • Flametongue Totem
Neutral Cards:
  • Raging Worgen
  • Windfury Harpy
Warlock
Power: 2 Mana, Lose 2 Life, Draw 1 Card
Warlocks are one of my favorite deck types. The hero uses his own life to gain the benefits of his creatures and spells. Minions also have a negative cost but are very powerful for their mana cost. Warlocks have to pay attention to their life at all times or the power becomes useless. the minions' positive abilities usually outweigh the negative ability of the minion so use that to your advantage. Healing is important to keep in mind when drafting as a Warlock. Most important rule of Warlocks in arena is alway pick the Blood Imp.
Key Cards:
Hero Specific Cards:
  • Blood Imp
  • Flame Imp
  • Demonfire
  • Summoning Portal
  • Voidwalker
  • Sense Demon
Neutral Cards:
  • Voodoo Doctor
  • Darkscale Healer
  • Flesheating Ghoul
Warrior
Power: 2 Mana, Gain 2 Armor
Warriors are by far my favorite hero, they have great synergy with the subclass Pirates. Warriors are a minion reliant deck that gain power by damaging their own minions. Warriors also benefit from weapons more than any other hero. Always pick the Fiery War Axe in Arena.
Key Cards:
Hero Specific Cards:
  • Fiery War Axe
  • Cruel Taskmaster
  • Frothing Berserker
  • Battle Rage
Neutral Cards:
  • Raging Worgen
  • Bloodsail Raider (if your deck has weapons. which it should)
  • Dread Corsair (same as the raider)
  • Gurubashi Berserker

Game Mechanics
Here I will discuss some key aspects of the game. (The order of this will be pretty random because my thoughts are fairly scattered right now)
The Coin
The Coin is used to give the second turn player a less of a disadvantage. If you get the coin, don't just waste it. Use it to your best ability. Favorite combos include The Coin + Defias Ringleader and Questing Adventurer+The Coin+Another spell/ minion. Proper coin placement can turn the early game in your favor.
Weapons
Weapons give the player an extra bit of control to the board. Your is important but you have to use it to your best advantage. Think of health as another source of mana. Make smart decisions when deciding to kill a minion with a weapon. Unless you are going for the win, don't waste your weapon on the opponent's life total.
Silence
Silence is an ability that doesn't appear often among minions/ spells. I would suggest to have two minions/ spells with the ability Silence in my deck. Use your Silence to the best advantage. Don't waste such a powerful ability.
Card Advantage
Card Advantage is key to maintaining stability throughout the game. This is very important during late game situations. Once you run out of steam, you are relying on whatever you draw each turn to go against your opponent. Therefore cards that can draw more cards are extremely useful in any deck.
If anyone wishes for me to discuss other aspects of the game, just let me know in the comments
Know the Lingo!
  • Card Value - this is talking about how useful the card is for the amount of mana you spend on it. For example if your opponent has a weapon and you play an Acidic Swamp Ooze, that two mana cost Ooze is worth way more than what you just spent it on since you go a creature and destroyed a weapon.
  • Top Decking - Top Decking is a term used when you are out of cards and are relying on the top card of your deck. You never want to be in this type of situation.
  • Luck Sacking - Players say this whenever he or the opponent gets a lucky draw and wins the game. No amount of skill could prepare anyone for something like this to happen.

Drafting in Arena
Here is a list of Neutral cards that are always solid picks in arena

  • Faerie Dragon
  • Dire Wolf Alpha
  • Ironbeak Owl
  • Mad Bomber
  • Youthful Brewmaster
