Diablo 3 - Blizzcon 2014 info by thatguytaken

  • Damage at higher Greater Rifts is being tuned and reduced.
  • Succubi debuff is going to just do damage now
  • Some kind of single target legendary item coming in the future
  • Maybe some changes to Fire Chains, making each successive chain do less damage.
  • No Season 1 end yet, but they want to give 30 days notice at least. Shooting for 3-4 months
  • 5-10% for Ancient items

Changes to Trials coming on PTR

New Goblins:

Seems like they will bait us, and kite us towards enemies, no longer run away only. (Also changed models)
Red,green and white goblins
  • Gem hoarder(White): Drops gems on each hit, up to imperials.
  • Odios collector(Green): Crafting material, Arcane dust and vieled crystals
  • Blood shard (Red): Drops bloodshards

Changes to adventure mode:

Towns being revamped, Layout of towns will be changed, Act 1 gem dude too far. (Seems like they are forcing poor deckard cane to run around act 1). Also unhappy about certain zones like tristram fields, want to add new randomization. They are going make entire new zones from the existing tilesets.
More varied layouts, New dungeons, Tristram fields, festering woods coming as rift dungeons.

Legendary gems:

There are graphs of our gem use, Bane of trapped - Bane of powerful and enforcer and miranea at top.

Greater rift changes:

Unhappy of absolute randomness of grifts, Conduits NOT being removed, changes to Speed and shielding pylons incoming.
  • Speed lasts 1 minute, runs through enemies, knocks enemies.
  • More density.
  • RG randomness changes. More balancing so less power deference.
  • Rip old stoneslinger, welcome new overloard.
  • Blizz staff likes conduits
  • Fun rifts, (Also reworking deadends in rifts)

Season 2 (PTR Confirmed):

  • Rip december release, see you in a couple of months S2
  • Apparently cain is still running to jeweler in act 1 (Can we get pics???)
  • Conquest speed racing
  • No lvl 70 race/rush ??
  • 50 million gold streak
  • S2 leg transmogs from same S1 set
    Legendary changes:
  • Wormwood:- It's somewhere down there, getting it later.
  • Ranslors folly:- Not pulling towards you, weird pulling effect, need video and better picture.

Ancient items:-

  • Up to 30% better available in Torment only.

New area, Sesheron :-

  • D2:LoD trailer, barb city is the new area, somewhere down there again.

  • Swinging traps, axes, swinging axe traps, spike traps, some more traps.

New creatures:-

  • New monsters (Naja beetles), maggots(Act 2 diablo 2?), Glowing death(It explodes into bees)
  • Rat king:- Most disgusting thing ever, lots of gore, Thanks Reddit gods live@blizz Rift guardian, stuff comes out when he is attacked, rat tornadoes (pm me with pictures or footage please) Eats you on kill, and burps and stuff.

  • Someone asked about ubers, wants to know about uber diablo, they didn't answer (Good idea, talk about it)
  • Another asked if we we can chance the drop color of icons (I'm going to hit someone, ask about S1)
  • Third asked about Stash space finally(And something about microtransactions) Answer : (Have no idea what the answer is , did anyone get it?)
  • Act 4/5 monsters being adjusted

Example items:

New Sets (From

-Barbarian: Whirwind and Rend :

2P: Rend deals 300% more damage.
4P: Rend lasts 300% longer.
6P:Targets affected by Rend take +300% Whirlwind damage.

-Demon Hunter:

2P: Gain 2 Discipline every time you use a Hatred Generator.
4P: Take 20% less damage if there are enemies within 40 yards.
6P: Every point of Discipline you currently have increases the damage of your Hatred Generators and Multishot by 10%.


2P: Casting Arcane Orb, Energy Twister, Magic Missile, and Shock Pulse reduce the cooldown of Slow Time by 1 second.
4P: Enemies affected by your Slow Time take 1250% weapon damage every second.
6P: Enemies affected by your Slow Time take 500% more damage from your Arcane Orb, Energy Twister, Magic Missile and Shock Pulse.

  • Wormwood: Locust Swarm deals continous damage.
  • Gungdo Gear: Exploding Palm's on-death explosion applies Exploding Palm.

Sunwuko Set:

-2P: Casting Cyclone Strike, Exploding Palm, Lashing Tail Kick, Tempest Rush or Wave of Light causes a decoy to spawn that taunts nearby enemies and then explodes for 1000% weapon damage.
-4P: Enemies hit by the decoy explosion take 500% from your Cyclone Strike, Exploding Palm, Lashing Tail Kick, Tempest Rush or Wave of Light abilities for 3 seconds.

NEW items: (Info directly from )

  • New Item: Crown of the Primus: Slow Time gains the effect of every rune.
  • New item: Ranslor's Folly: Wrists, Energy Twister periodically pulls in an enemy withing 30 yards. An enemy can only be pulled in this way once every 5 seconds.
